Careers > Corporate Controller

The Corporate Controller will be responsible for managing the Accounting, SEC reporting, Tax Compliance and Reporting and Stock Administration functions of the Company. The individual will ensure the company’s compliance with all accounting rules and regulations and local, state and federal tax requirements, including Sarbanes-Oxley 404 compliance and other corporate governance matters.  This position will report to the Chief Financial Officer.

Responsibilities:

  • Direct the Accounting, Payroll, Corporate Reporting and Compliance, and Stock Administration functions
  • Establish and maintain the Company’s financial policies and procedures pertaining to business processes or internal controls
  • Ensure the accuracy and completeness of all publicly filed financial or disclosure documents
  • Complete financial review of all company contracts
  • Provide accounting and business expertise to all business development transactions
  • Assess the financial implications of new accounting policies (SAB,EITF, FASB, etc.) on the Company’s operations
  • Oversee all 401(k) “administrator” duties, and ensures plan remains in compliance with all DOL and ERISA regulations
  • Oversee the preparation and review of all Company SEC financial statements and filings

Requirements:

  • 10+ years of related experience in Finance, 5+ years of management experience, BS/MBA in accounting with CPA certification
  • Strong expertise in the areas of SEC and general accounting, and stock administration – prior public company experience is a must
  • Ability to use complex thinking and critical analysis when solving business issues and negotiations
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Effectively manage multiple direct reports
  • Knowledge and understanding of biotechnology industry
  • Experience in working well within a team environment
